Debugging
Debugging Ruby on Rails applications requires a variety of skills and tools. Rails provides stack traces when an error occurs, which are often helpful but can also provide confusing information. You can write diagnostic information to the server console, or to the log, and you can set breakpoints at which you have a debugger available. The Rails console is also a valuable tool. When working in a browser, the FireBug plugin for Firefox is an essential debugging tool.
