Models
In a Ruby on Rails application, the models are classes that generally represent tables in the database. Each model class inherits a rich set of capabilities from the Active Record library. You can then add associations with other tables, validation requirements for data going into the database, and methods to provide the business logic associated with the model. Thus, the model class encapsulates all the information about working with the application’s data, independent of how it is presented.
